I am, by profession, a stage director and a member of both SDC (the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society) and AEA (Actors' Equity Association). My directing credits - all seventy-seven of them - range from New Hampshire to Florida, New York to Louisiana. I am also trained as a designer, with credits in scenic and lighting design ranging from Off-Broadway to Off-Loop.

It's a well-known fact that, in our society, every artist needs a fall-back position - an "occupation" to support the art: My secondary career has been in education. Because my work as a director is process oriented - I believe that a good process invariably produces a good product - it has been said of me that I "teach like a director and direct like a teacher." I can guarantee that the actors with whom I work will learn, grow and mature in their craft during rehearsals because, as an artist, that is what I, myself, strive to achieve!

One focus of my career in education is reform: I've served as an Arts Education Consultant for more than a decade. That, however, is the subject of another page.

This site is the result of my desire to learn a new language: I chose HTML. I'm thinking maybe Hawaiian next... I've given up learning to play the Theremin.
